FALCOM announces the availability of the GPRS modules F35-GPRS and CM35-GPRS as well as the availability of the GPRS modem TWIST-GPRS. These devices are GPRS multi-slot class 8 compliant and already support PBCCH (Packet Switched Broadcast Control Channel). For data coding scheme CS1, 2, 3 and 4 are implemented. The maximum GPRS data transfer is 85,6 kbps(downlink) and 21.4 kbps (uplink). The embedded OEM modules are hardware compatible to the F35/A2D and CM35/CM2C respectively and software compatible to the MC35 core from Siemens. The TWIST-GPRS modem is hardware compatible with the FALCOM TWIST GSM modem. In the next few days the complete documentation will be available on our homepage. Samples are available from the beginning of February 2002 through FALCOM sales channels world wide. Within February 2002 the FALCOM test-and evaluation software will be extended to support the GPRS functionality, so that the FALCOM GSM-EVALKIT can be used for quick and easy OEM design-in for embedded GPRS applications too. Parallel to that the GPRS extension of the application software of the FALCOM TWIST-GPRS-SET will be released in the same time frame.
