FALCOM announces the availability of the combined GPS/Bluetooth receiver FALCOM NAVI-1. The new device architecture is based on the SiRFstarIIe/LP chipset and supports SiRF's XTrac software package. The new device concept is targeting at critical GPS applications that require high sensitivity like positioning in narrow row of houses, densely wooded areas and partially even in buildings. The embedded Bluetooth core is based on the Zeevo chipset and is supporting serial port profile (SPP) stack. This circumstance provides easy Plug & Play link to a variety of BT enabled PDAs, smart phones and other similar equipment. The FALCOM NAVI-1 design integrates active GPS and BT antenna as well as an exchangeable LiIon battery into a very compact ergonomic form factor. Beside ON/OFF switch and status LEDs for BT, GPS, battery the concept offers standard interfaces for battery charging and external GPS antenna. Complete set of accessories like AC/DC and DC/DC (car cigarette lighter) power adapters, variety of connector adapters, external GPS antenna etc. are making out of the NAVI-1 concept perfect powerful and cost efficient basis for the creation of wide range of tracking and navigation solutions.
