FALCOM introduces a new automotive after-market device concept that combines 20 channel high sensitivity GPS module, latest Quad Band GSM/GPRS technology (Telit GE864), Bluetooth and IEEE 802.15.4 connectivity into a very compact form factor. The BOLERO-QUAD concept embeds GSM/GPS/BT/IEEE antennas, 3 axis motion sensor, 300mAh Li-Polymer battery, ARM7TDMI host controller with a very powerful AVL software solution, CAN transceiver (option), I/Os and car voltage power supply. The design allows easy and cost efficient integration into automotive environment. The short range wireless connectivity improves the scalability of the system using a range of external accessories like key fob, I/O extension box, headset and hands-free kit and other wireless sensors.

The hardware and the complex embedded software allow the implementation of the BOLERO-Quad concept into a plenty of tracking centric (fleet management, AVL, asset monitoring, route planning, data and event logging, pay-as-you-drive, etc.) and security centric (car security, driver security, VIP monitoring, emergency and recovery solutions etc) applications.

Project clients can use the complete BOLERO-QUAD-EVALKIT that contains all relevant hardware and software tools for evaluation and integration of the BOLERO-QUAD concept.

The BOLERO concept is the first member of the new generation of FALCOM devices dedicated to the telematics, LBS and M2M markets. It is based on the TELIT Quad-Band GSM/GPRS technology and is the result of the close co-operation between both entities.
