FALCOM announces the availability of the combined GSM/GPS embedded OEM module A2D-SI. The device combines a Full Type Approved Dual Band GSM 900/1800(1900) module with 12 channel GPS receiver into an optimised form factor of 95 mm x 50 mm x 15 mm. The integrated SIM card reader and the optimised interfaces allow the creation of very compact, low power and cost effective solutions for the vertical as well as for the horizontal market. The GPS core is based on the SiRFstarII chipset and offers superior TTFF acquisition rate combined with low power consumption. The GSM core is software compatible with the popular FALCOM A2D(L) and CM2C modules as well as with the Wavecom WM2C and WMO3i devices. The FALCOM A2D-SI enables system partners and OEM's to quickly upgrade existing platform or create completely new applications with substantially improved price/performance ratio.
